Seasons’ Song

bouncing bunnies
flitter and frolic in fields and flowers as
buzzing bees breeze by in the air
perfumed by peonies and petunias pulsing with the
light and love and laughter of the
surrounding seasonal songs of spring.

baby brown bears bound from
crystalline caverns
switching the slumber of
winter for the warmth of
summer’s streams stuffed with salmon.

busy beavers build
wooden walls when winter’s
cold comes calling as
foliage falls from
towering trees to the
frosted forest floor.

beautifully breasted birds beat
their wings as they wind
their way to their winter
homes hoping
to find the fish
to feed their feathered forms and
sing the song of spring
once more.
