That's what happened here. Crosswinds had a major crash. This is a rarity these days btw... I've been with Crosswinds for years and years, even way back when they were a free service.. one of the only ones that was free with no ads and no popups. Even now the service is really quite affordable, and has always been just the best as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, everything should be copasthetic now. I hope I spelled that right. I think it would be terrible to spell copasthetic wrong on a web site devoted to writing!

Incidentally, I would really like to see more people interested in posting serious work to the website. I'm personally not too big on poetry (frankly because the vast majority of it that I am exposed to just isn't very good... either the poetry or the subject matter... bleh... However, I will publish it if I like it... (poetry has to live up to a pretty high standard I'm afraid.. Sorry, that's unfair, becuase being as I don't care for it, I'm a very harsh judge.) What I would really like to see though is more essays and short story type submissions.

If you'd like to submit something. Please send it to wordhaven@crosswinds.net. I will check it over, and I will send it back to you for approval before publishing if there is any editing needed, unless all I'm correcting are small things like typos, punctuation or spelling errors. I will be glad to see more work submitted here.

I did another update today... What I did was upload Find Your Way to the Fan Fiction section... so now there is officially Fan fiction. Sometime this week, I think that I will set up a Blogger to do the Haven News Updates... I think I'll be more likely to at least update the news here more often... Maybe even every time I update or add to the site I'll remember hahahaha. Will wonders never cease!

Well HONESTLY... I don't think I've done a very good job of keeping this site up to date... But in my defense I did buy a house this year. Hahaha... I am going to try in the next couple of weeks to get a handle on things. We want to reopen Rimati Heritage, and it's looking rather like there may be a new IF on the horizon as well, so there is that too. in the mean time everyone be patient with me.. it's been a busy year!

Well I don't think I've finished with the Rimati site yet... Things got a little busy around here. I did make some corrections to the front page. here, so hopefully all links that work will be working properly now. To those involved, the Delta Pavonis link is now working.

I'm going to try to get the Rimati Heritage site up today. I don't know how far I'll get.. I've had such a loverly bout of flu... but we'll see if I can't get it at least posted if not revamped. ^_^

The Poetry section is complete. Please feel free to submit poetry. Please be aware that I am not a good judge of poetry. I write plenty of it, but I am doing well if I can read even a small amount. Be warned that I may not always be able to comment intelligently, and my ability or inability to read or understand your poetry should not be taken as a reflection on your ability to poem. I will make up for it when I have prose for commentary and editing. Bear with me.. the rest of the Interactive sites shall be next and then on to Fan Fiction.

The Interactive Fiction section is partially complete. The secondary websites for Blood Hunt and A New Generation are now posted. Anyone having difficulty with midi files on websites... the ANG website still has midi music and the music free mirror is not yet available.

To those of you who celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday as we do here in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving. My advice to you.. Eat lots. Don't get fat. ^_^ I have already done so. Anyway, I'm going to try to put up some of the IF sites today. I will publish the IF's themselves at any rate. The question will be whether or not I can get the index page written today to get to the websites for the IF's since some of them will be hosted here, and some will be hosted elsewhere, but you can get to them from here.

Well needless to say, I have FINALLY decided what to do about a server. I decided to try Crosswinds' premium service. If I find that even while paying for it, I am not getting the kind of service that I at one time expected from Crosswinds, then I will consider other options. For the time being though, let's see how we do here. Please update your bookmarks to this page.

In celebration of our 1000th visitor, I have FINALLY begun a site re-modification. This is a major undertaking as we now have more than two hundred pages.. When I originally built this site, it was pretty small, but it grew very quickly. At the time, my HTML skills and my graphics skills were a little less advanced than they are now, and I did not know anything about style sheets or frames or layered graphic design. So the conversion will take time as I rip out code from each individual page and convert them all over to the new style sheet. I'm still deciding about Crosswinds. I've really been too busy to think about it much. Please be patient as right now the majority of the links do not go anywhere, but they are open. I'll link them in as I get the new main pages finished.

Crosswinds has suffered a major crash due to a UPS which was overloaded by very poor power conditions due to the WTC tragedy. Writer's Haven was completely lost. Fortunately I have it backed up here as well as on CD, but it will take some time for me to upload it all without FTP. I am still debating my hosting options. I have long spoken in defense of Crosswinds when times have been rough, but now I have to decide if I want to look for another free hosting site, or if I'd prefer to stay with Crosswinds. If I stay with Crosswinds, and that is the direction in which I am leaning at present, then I will be going for the premium service so that I can use FTP and get rid of these damn multiple pop-ups. The question that I am currently weighing to be honest is whether in paying what is really a mere pittance is going to take my service level back to the level that so impressed me with Crosswinds when I first joined them at the inception of this site. I'll try to make my decision soon.

What devastating things have occurred today. I cannot express enough my sorrow at the losses, and my anger at those responsible. There is so much I wish to say, and so much that has not yet solidified through the shock of this event. I will post my thoughts more coherently later.
